19 Weeks. I love surprises!!!

What an amazing week it has been. We have been busy and that is partially why this post in one day late. Well that and the fact that I was WAY to tired to post it yesterday.

Last Saturday, we woke up and Ari said "I have a surprise for you today. We are going to go out and do something fun but you have to be ready to walk out the door by 10:30 on the dot." Me being super excited popped right out of bed and got ready as fast as my body would let me move. It was just about 10:30 and I was ready so I took Eleni into her room to get her changed and ready for the day. I started changing her when all of sudden I heard a familiar voice in the door way of her room say "HELLLLLOOOOO!!!!". I looked up and immediately started crying (yeah I know I am a baby, everything makes me cry). It was Holly!!!! Holly is one of my best friends and very favorite people. Side note, Holly abandoned me to move back to her home state of Texas a while ago and it had been quite a while since I had last seen her! (Sorry Holly, that last sentence was meant to make you feel guilty) ;) The extra bonus of this surprise was that my other good friend Kelly was standing there with her! Oh my goodness at this point my heart was overflowing with joy and excitement. I had been missing my girls so much and was so happy to see them. What a PERFECT surprise!! We rounded up the rest of the troops, i.e., Christina and Jane. The reunion was now complete! We spent the whole weekend catching up, drinking wine, eating yummy food, and laughing. This was just the little reboot that I needed!

Now for a little Eleni update! She really is becoming such a big girl! She is playing and interacting with us all of the time. She is laughing and LOVES and I mean LOVES to suck on everything including her own feet! LOL! She is extremely close to rolling completely over, back to front all on her own. Oh and a little miracle, she actually sat in her swing for 1 whole hour the other day keeping herself entertained. Baby steps people! Her sleep pattern is still not back to normal. She is waking up 2+ times a night, which is leaving me in less than stellar condition. It is so funny how much life changes, I now dream and think about a good nights sleep all of the time. Like real, uninterrupted, me not worrying all night long sleep!!! Awwwww the good old days! Don't think I will be experiencing that anytime soon. Anyhow, enough of my rambling. Palm Springs, August 2009

Last weekend we spent two nights at the Viceroy in Palm Springs to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was just what we needed--relaxation, pool time, cocktails, and yummy food! Ari and I actually went on our first trip together to this hotel when it was the Estrella many years ago. We try to make it back to this amazing spot every year. The staff is extremely friendly and the atmosphere is really off the charts! We loved walking around the grounds and reminiscing about our first trip together.

Another huge bonus of this trip was that I got to really put my new camera to use. The hotel has so many creative decorations and there are vibrant colors around every corner. I was a picture taking fool all weekend! Special thanks to my wonderful hubby for putting up with my new hobby. I could not have asked for a better model! ;)

18 Weeks Old

Yaaaaaaaaawwwwwwnnnnnnnnn...it has been a little bit of a rough week to say the least. I think Eleni might be going through the "4 month wakeful period". Anyone out there have experience with this? From what I have read there is really nothing you can do but ride it out. She went from being an amazing night time sleeper to fighting sleep for a couple hours before she will go down. Then once she is down she is waking up multiple times through out the night. Ugh it is really hard to adjust to no sleep again!!! I pray this does not last long and that our rockstar night time sleeper soon returns. :)

In other news, Eleni tried her first baby rice cereal this week. She is definitely not a fan! It is so funny to watch her face as I spoon it in her mouth. There is a split a second when it first goes in that I think she might be enjoying it and then BAM! it all comes right back out! ;) No worries, her doctor warned me of this and said that if she is not taking to it to try baby oatmeal cereal.

Three Years Of Wonderful Memories!!

Three years ago today Ari and I had the most unbelievable wedding and became husband and wife!!! Happy anniversary baby!! I can not believe how quickly it has gone by. It has been an amazing 3 years filled with an uncountable number of wonderful and life changing memories. I feel so blessed to have found a best friend and partner for life. I look forward to the future with a warm feeling in my heart and excitement that grows every day. I am so thankful for my husband that provides for our family, fills my heart with laughter, and gave me the most precious gift of all...Eleni!!! :)

As I get more and more interested in photography and I look back at our wedding photos I am more thankful than ever that we had such an amazing photographer! Our Baby Girl Is 4 Months Old!!!

Woo Hoo! I made it just in time for Eleni's 4 Month Birthday post!!! Ari and I had an amazing weekend in Palm Springs (pictures soon to come) and now we are back home and getting back into the swing of daily life. Eleni had her 4 Month check up today and she is doing great. She is just about 14 lbs and 25.5 inches long (the 80th percentile for her height!!). Awwwww our little bean pole. ;) The doctor said that Eleni can start on "solids" when ever we like. We will start with rice cereal, then move to veggies, and then on to fruit!! How exciting! The doctor also checked out her gums and said that we will probably see the start of a couple of teeth coming through within the next couple of weeks. We can't believe how quickly she is growing up!!! Just a couple of pics from my parent's house this weekend....XOXO

17 Weeks Old

Oh my goodness, I just typed a long entry for this post and it somehow got deleted. AGGGHHHHHHH! Oh well let me see if I can remember. I think it went something like this.... :)

Wow I can't believe it has been 17 weeks since we welcomed Eleni into the world, time is flying by!! Eleni now loves to sit up all of the time although she still needs something behind her back to prop her up. She is trying very hard to sit up on her own, if I had to guess I would say just a couple more weeks until she will be able to on her own. Eleni loves to lay on her changing table. She must think this means it is time to play! She pumps her legs, flails her arms, smiles, and giggles like crazy! It is toooooo cute! This week Eleni also watched her first Baby Einstein DVD I think she was mildly amused. Mildly amused = Completely entertained happy baby for about 5 minutes. ;) We are still having issues getting Eleni to nap in her crib during the day. She just will not do it!! If there are any Moms/Dads out there with any napping tips please send them our way. :)

Eleni is going on a mini vacation this weekend. She will be spending the next 2 nights with Nana B, Grandpa Ben, and Uncle Phil. Ari and I are heading to Palm Springs for some relaxation, sun, and celebration. We have been married for 3 AMAZING years!
